It's When Your Success Matters!
Jonathon entered the door of his home after a hard day's work. His wife called saying she was working late asked him to pick up the kids for day-care.
What to do for dinner? He felt guilty feeding his children fast food again tonight. Painfully he remembered the days that he came home from work, his wife greeting him to the delicious smell of a home cooked meal. His children running to him with open welcome arms of love. He longed for those days again.
As he drove to his in-laws to pick up the kids, he noticed the doors of the small business owners locked tight “Out of Business” signs in the windows. His heart grew sad. He had owned his own successful repair shop until the big crash. Now he worked in retail in the mall.
His wife, a wonderful mother, had to leave her children in daycare and get a job just to help pay the monthly bills. There was little left for food especially after the gas tank in the truck and car were filled.
He picked up the kids, who were wearing thrift store clothing. His heart ached with sadness. Many of his friends had no job at all, should he feel grateful for his?
Driving home through the rain and traffic, he dreaded preparing a quick dinner from processed boxed food filled with junk and additives. Should he be grateful that his kids had food?
After dinner he watched TV and waited for his wife. His children were doing homework. Their mother had always been home to help them, now she came home exhausted and frustrated from working long hours with little pay.
Television filled the house with commercials and bad news; and up-coming election. Who will be the next President of the United States? He listened intently as the news anchors reported their opinions of what each candidate said that day.
His wife finally home walked in unhappy and exhausted. Her silence pierced his soul like a knife. He was a man chained to the main street meltdown. Soon it would be time to vote for the next President of The United States. The world was watching. Could his vote matter? He wondered if it was worth the effort.
During his prayer just before sleep, he asked where his country had gone wrong. He understood the answer that he received. His country had turned her back on God. Jonathon fell asleep that night thinking, if we think we can do it ourselves, we are fools.
Are people prepared for another economic meltdown as predicted by some authorities? Can families cope with more lack and need? What if everything is lost? It happens hourly and is not reported. Regardless of where the loss originates, it is still loss. Command your life, you can do it; the government won’t. www.lovebasedrelationships.com
